Despite a late rally Bromley suffered a blow to their league survival hopes as they were beaten by their promotion chasing local rivals Dartford at Hayes Lane on Easter Monday.
The game started with Bromley looking to get the ball down the wings and play despite the atrocious pitch, while Dartford always look a threat from set pieces.
After half chances at either end it was the away side that got the breakthrough on 22mins when Elliott Bradbrook burst through the home defence and finished well past Joe Welch.
Only four minutes later The Darts were 2-0 up when a deep free kick was headed home by Luke Wilkinson past a static Ravens defence.
The Darts then totally dominated the rest of the half James Rogers & Jacob Erskine shot wide while Wilkinson had a header saved before in injury time Bromley mustered one effort when Danny Waldren struck the post from distance.
The second half saw Mark Goldberg make two changes and alter his formation but Dartford still created the early chances, Harris had seen an effort saved by Welch and also shot wide, while Wilkinson & Bradbrook forced saved from Welch before the home side rallied and started to create.
After the introduction of Albert Jarrett on 76mins Bromley’s more attacking style paid off when Michael Malcolm hit a low free kick and Louis Wells in The Darts goal dived over it for 1-2.
Then for the final quarter of an hour Bromley looked like a side desperate for a point, Gareth Williams had an effort cleared off the line by Tom Bonner, Anthony Thomas shot over, Ali Fuseini fired over once and had a powerful effort saved brilliantly by Wells, but they couldn’t find a way through.
The Ravens no longer have their fate in their own hands and face a very nervous final three games, while Dartford look set for second place and play off drama.
